Celtic defender Nir Bitton says that the “roaring” from Hoops fans on Wednesday night told him something had happened at Ibrox.
Neil Lennon’s treble chasers moved a whopping 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership despite only drawing against Livingston.
That was as a result of Rangers’ loss at home to minnows Hamilton Accies.
And Bitton admits he was aware that something was going on at Ibrox, after the Celtic support let out a roar at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Bitton told the Scottish Sun: “I don’t know about other guys but I heard our fans roaring during the game, when we were 2-1, so I was like ‘What’s going on?
“Then I realised Rangers were playing at the same time so I thought something happened there.
“During the game you don’t think about it, you concentrate on yourself and you concentrate on your game.”

Bitton gave an interesting insight
It’s fascinating to hear players talking about hearing things from the crowd and reacting to it.
Players will often tell you that they don’t even register the crowd when they’re playing, but Bitton’s revelation shows that some players are well aware of what’s going on.
Thankfully now we can just focus on winning matches ourselves and know that the league will soon be over if we do so.

We are a maximum of six wins away from another title – something that seemed pretty inconceivable when we returned from the winter break.
The players can focus solely on beating St. Mirren this weekend and then Rangers the following week – two wins that would firmly put the title to bed, if it isn’t already.
Then we may be hearing an even bigger roar for Bitton to get excited about.
