Reo Hatate and Aaron Mooy were nowhere to be seen in Celtic training on Tuesday as the team continues preparation for their return this weekend.
Ange Postecoglou‘s Hoops are away to Ross County on Sunday as they aim to take another step towards a second successive title.
The Celts have been in relentless form so far in 2023 – and currently find themselves on a 14-match winning run.
Hatate and Mooy have been key components of the side this year but both may be struggling to be fit for Sunday’s game, if the session is anything to go by.
Celtic posted the ‘Unfiltered’ footage from a horrible, rainy Lennoxtown and there were no signs of either the Japanese or Australian talents in training.
While that is disappointing, it is still great to have a bit of clarity from the much-needed footage.
Mooy missed our most recent game against Hibernian while Hatate limped off 12 minutes in, with Postecoglou hopeful the injury would be “nothing too serious.”
There was also no evidence of Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada or Anthony Ralston in the video. All three were forced to leave their country’s set-ups early in the last week.
There was however good news in the shape of Tomoki Iwata being back in action. Like Mooy he missed the Hibernian win, but is now back and could well start on Sunday if the Aussie and Hatate are out.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor were also present despite there being lingering doubts over their recent fitness.
So we may be missing a few for Sunday, but Ange has now built a squad with immense depth. The team we field should still be very capable of securing another three points.
