Former Rangers striker Kenny Miller couldn’t help but give a glowing assessment of Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic to Australian media this week, even though for him ‘it’s not great to see’.

Postecoglou’s Bhoys are currently top of the Scottish Premiership after blowing Rangers away a couple of weeks ago. It was a big turning point this season after gradual improvement from Celtic all season.

Miller isn’t enjoying it but has had to admire what the Australian is doing in Glasgow.

Speaking to FTBL, he said: “From a Rangers fan perspective, it’s not great to see but from a neutral point of view what Ange has achieved so far has been incredible.

“You have to give credit where it’s due. From the Rangers side a major concern is just how much of an impact Ange has had in such a short space of time. The question is what might he go on to accomplish now from the base he’s already built?

“For sustained success, you need stability throughout the club, from the coaching staff, to the players to the boardroom and Ange hasn’t initially had that because he’s still building something. If he stays on the path he’s on it only promises bigger things to come.

“The league title is going to go down to the wire and It bodes well for Scottish football because you need a strong Celtic and a strong Rangers. Some of what I’ve been seeing from Celtic under Postecoglou has been nothing short of sensational.”

It’s a pretty honest assessment from Miller. Although he also used to play for Celtic, he’s never hidden his allegiances lie with the Ibrox side.

Postecoglou and the Celtic team must be a serious worry for most Rangers supporters, even if most of them don’t or can’t admit it like Miller.

It’s true they are only a point behind us, but given the thumping they were on the receiving end of at Celtic Park they can lay no claim to be being the best side in Scotland.

Let’s hope Celtic can dish out more pain as the season goes on.
