Odsonne Edouard gets high praise from the most unexpected of sources

Celtic attacker Odsonne Edouard has received high praise from the most unexpected of sources. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who is an Arsenal fan, attended Celtic’s 1-1 draw against Cluj on Wednesday night.

He stated on social media that he was particularly impressed with Odsonne Edouard’s performance against the Romanian side.

He also praised the ‘discipline and determination’ shown by Celtic.

Edouard did play well for the Hoops, so it is easy to see why Corbyn was impressed. Perhaps the only blemish was a late header that Edouard should have done better with.

Had that went in it could have secured a win for the Hoops and all but booked a place in the Champions League play-offs.

Still, Neil Lennon will be pleased with Edouard’s performance. He held the ball up well and worked very hard as a lone striker.

It will be interesting to see of Lennon decides to give Edouard a rest for the upcoming league match against Motherwell on Saturday.

The Hoops do have Leigh Griffiths who can come in and replace Edouard if need be. It would perhaps be a good idea to give the player a break before the second leg against Cluj.

That game is arguably more important than the Motherwell one, so you can perhaps expect to see a few changes made in the Hoops starting line-up.
