Odsonne Edouard has stated that he’s looking forward to fans returning to Celtic Park soon amid speculation surrounding his future.
Edouard looks likely to leave Parkhead before fans are even back in the door. He’s been linked with the likes of Leicester City and Arsenal as a move to the English Premier League looks likely [The Sun].
This comes with the Frenchman into the final year of his contract and with no signs of a renewal being signed. In turn, that means this is the club’s last chance to rake in a sizable fee for him before he can speak to rival suitors for nothing in January.
Yet, in an Instagram post that will no doubt have plenty of fans excited, Edouard says he’s looking forward to seeing the Celtic fans back as he reacted to the season-ticket renewal campaign.

Odsonne Edouard could still play in front of fans at Celtic Park before he leaves
If you’re wondering whether this means Edouard could still be playing for us next season, don’t get your hopes up. Yes, he may very well know how much of a frenzy he would whip up with a message like this, but the truth is it’s probably just a throwaway remark.
Remember, Edouard could very well still play at Celtic Park in front of fans without committing to the club for the season. We have two pre-season friendly games scheduled for fans to enter should restrictions allow. We also have the Champions League qualifiers which he will most likely be involved in.

These are the games he’ll be referring to. Of course certain outlets will make this seem as though he’s teasing an extended Celtic stay. Let’s not kid ourselves however, if he wanted to stay he would simply have signed a new contract. Let’s nt make this into something it isn’t.
Besides, supporters have wanted the striker gone for some time now. Many believe that his heart wasn’t in it for most of last season. Whether it truly was or not only Edouard will know. But the time is clearly right for all parties to move on.
There’s no chance we’ll keep a hold of him beyond the summer. But it could be the case that he gets a decent send-off before he leaves for pastures new.
In other news, the first match of the new era at Celtic has finally been confirmed.
