It is fair to say that Odsonne Edouard is enjoying his time at Celtic more than he enjoyed his time at PSG. The player has recently explained his reasons why he is enjoying his time at Glasgow, and it is one that many footballers will be familiar with.
“I’m having fun, I’m sticking in goals, and earning playing time. That’s what I need” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.
“Take this opportunity”
“At PSG, I did not have the chance to have a lot so obviously I could not show what I was worth. Now that I have a lot more playing time, I take this opportunity to demonstrate my qualities.”
As outlined above, it is the chance to play football on a regular basis that has been so appealing to Edouard abut his time in Glasgow.
He was never going to be the first choice striker at PSG due to the number of strikers that they have. The French champions have a raft of top strikers. However, that is not the case at Celtic.
Been a first-team regular for the Hoops
He has played regularly for the Hoops since completing a £9 million deal to become Celtic’s highest transfer fee of all time.
That has to be regarded as money well spent. Edouard has gone on to become an ever better striker at Celtic than he was when he first joined the club.
When he does move from Celtic, there is little doubt that the club will recoup the £9 million plus a fair bit more. Up until then though, it is about keeping the player happy. As long as he is applying regularly for the Hoops, it seems like the player will be happy, and there is little chance of Neil Lennon dropping him any time soon.
