Odsonne Edouard has responded to some unexpected criticism from former Celtic legend Charlie Nicholas. The former Hoops striker criticised the Frenchman for his lack of celebrations after scoring.
“It’s as if he can’t be too fussed in the so-called lesser games. The thing that irritates me more than anything is his lack of celebration when he scores” Nicholas told the Express (Print edition, 24/09, page. 61)
“It should be the greatest feeling in the world but Odsonne doesn’t show that.”
Now Edouard has responded on social media to Nicholas’ comments.
“That’s not my problem”

“I celebrate my goals how I want, if you don’t like it, that’s not my problem” he said on his personal Twitter account.
Celtic fans will be delighted with Edouard’s response. He won’t change what he does when he scores, and why should he?
It’s not like he hasn’t celebrated for the Hoops when he has scored. You only need to look at his celebrations for his winning goals against Dundee and Hearts last season.
An odd criticism to have

It is an odd thing for the former Celtic striker to get annoyed with Edouard about. What Edouard should be receiving is plenty of praise, for maintaining his excellent form for the Hoops over the last two years.
There’s no doubt that if he plays for the Hoops against Partick in the Betfred Cup on Wednesday, he will receive a huge ovation from the Celtic support.
That is what the player deserves, as he has been one of Celtic’s best players over the last year. It will be intriguing to see what his next celebration is like after he scores his next goal for the Hoops? The fans will appreciate it anyway, as should his team-mates and Neil Lennon.
