Odsonne Edouard is now Celtic’s main man in front of goal.
Not only is he Celtic’s record transfer signing, he is also their top goalscorer this season with 11 goals.
The Frenchman started the season on fire, partnering his compatriot Moussa Dembele in a 3-5-2 formation.
The duo looked like they would fire Celtic to the Champions League group stages for a third consecutive season.

However, that didn’t materialise and Dembele left for Lyon. This meant Edouard was vying for top spot up front with Leigh Griffiths.
Like Dembele and Griffiths early on in Brendan Rodgers’ reign, it was a back and forth affair.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
Edouard struggled without Dembele, whereas Griffiths took his chance in the team.
After netting important winners against Rosenborg and St. Johnstone, Griffiths proclaimed himself ‘number one striker’ at the club.

Finding form again
Eduoard then scored for Celtic in the Europa League tie against FC Salzburg. Since then, he hasn’t looked back.
In his last seven Celtic starts, he’s managed to score seven goals. These include doubles against both Hearts and Hibs at Celtic Park.
There’s doubts over his ability to play up front on his own, many believe he needs a partner to bring out his full potential.
However what may be more likely, is he needs a consistent run in the team to build up his sharpness.

With his confidence up, he produces moments of magic that has made him a cult hero with the Celtic fans.
His winning goal at Ibrox in March, to give a 10 man Celtic all three points, will live long in the memory.
He also notched a double when Celtic clinched seven in a row at home against Rangers.
Just like the Dembele-Griffiths battle, Edouard has accepted the challenge laid down by his teammate.
With Griffiths out injured, Celtic need Edouard to keep firing on all cylinders for the time being.
