Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham has not been a first pick for the Hoops for most of this season. He has at times had to be content with a place on the bench, or not featured at all on occasion.
However, that could all change after Ntcham’s winning goal against Lazio in the Europa League. The player certainly hopes that is the case. He has revealed to the Celtic View that he hopes to feature in all of Celtic’s matches between now and the winter break in January, a total of 11 games.
“We’re going to be playing a game every three days so it will be tough for the team” he said, as reported by the Celtic View (Volume 55, Issue 20, Page. 09).
“Hope to be involved”
“I hope we win every game, and we will approach it game by game to make sure we win everything. I hope to be involved in every game from now until the winter break, not just the cup final.”
Ntcham’s attitude is one that manager Neil Lennon will be pleased with. The player seems desperate to play for the Hoops, which can only be a good thing for the team.
Scored winning goal in derby last season
It is interesting that he singles out the Betfred Cup Final against Rangers. Ntcham seems to think that he will be involved in that game, and he might well be correct. After all, he did score the winner in a 1-0 victory over the Ibrox side last season.
However, there are still games to be played before that. Ntcham’s goal seems to be to feature in all 11 games ahead of the winter break. Injury permitting, you have to think that he has a good chance of achieving that goal.
Hopefully in those fixtures, he can find the back of the net occasionally like he did against Lazio. If he can, it could be a good few weeks for Ntcham.
