We should find out more about the reported move taking Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham to West Ham United when Neil Lennon names his starting line-up for this evening.
The Frenchman is in “advanced negotiations” with the Premier League side – according to French site footmercato.net – in news that could drive a dagger through the hearts of many Hoops supporters.
The report says that the 23-year-old could soon make his “comeback” to England although it is also mentioned that the Hammers could go for fellow midfielder Pope Cheikh Diop instead.
Ntcham has been a huge player for Celtic in recent months – starting eight of our last nine matches – and it would be seen as a real blow if he departed with just days of the window to go.
If Ntcham is absent, conclusions will be reached
We will likely find out the validity of the report in question around 6:30 this evening when Neil Lennon names his team for the game against St. Johnstone.
As previously mentioned, Ntcham has been a big part of our recent plans. He’s started all three of our matches so far 2020, in the absence of Ryan Christie.
The former Inverness Caley Thistle man is back this evening so Ntcham could be shunted to the bench.
However, no appearance for him at all in the matchday squad of 18 would send a pretty ominous message that his days in the Hoops could be over.
We will all just have to wait on the Northern Irishman’s selection, with baited breath, at around an hour before kick-off.
