Celtic face Motherwell in their first game after the international break, looking to continue the incredible goal-scoring they showcased against Aberdeen last time out.

Celtic put in their performance of the season against Aberdeen in a 6-0 win at Celtic Park before the recent international break, with four late goals capping off a relentless second-half display.

Luis Palma stole the show that day with his penalty goal and a hat trick of assists, showing that in recent weeks he has taken his game to a whole new level, despite a slow start after joining the club in the summer from Aris Thessaloniki.

Hyeongyu Oh was also a standout that day, coming off the bench in the second half to score twice, replacing Kyogo Furuhashi, who went off with a head injury after a challenge from Slobodan Rubezic.

Like most games, there is uncertainty surrounding the third central midfield spot alongside Callum McGregor and Matt O’Riley, with Reo Hatate out until after Christmas. Odin Thiago Holm started last time out but has found his game time limited to substitute appearances, with David Turnbull continuing to start domestically and Paulo Bernardo starting in the Champions League.

Potential Celtic team vs Motherwell

In goal, Joe Hart starts with Brendan Rodgers favouring Hart over Scott Bain and Benjamin Siegrist.

Rodgers will likely name an unchanged back four with Alistair Johnston at right back, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales at centre back, and Greg Taylor at left back. Although there is an outside chance Johnston and Carter-Vickers will be rested after having played in North America during international duty for Canada and the United States with Lazio on Tuesday in mind.

In midfield, Rodgers will start the ever-dependable Callum McGregor and Matt O’Riley who made his debut for the Denmark senior team on Monday.

Celtic’s third central midfield position is up for grabs, arguably the most difficult position in the team to predict, with Holm playing against Aberdeen. However, David Turnbull will likely start, with Paulo Bernardo appearing to be favoured in Europe over domestically.

Up front Rodgers will look to name an unchanged front three with Hyunjun Yang, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Luis Palma. Despite Kyogo going off injured against Aberdeen, he looks to be fully recovered, with recent images showing him back in training. Oh may feel hard done by after scoring two against Aberdeen, but Rodgers has shown that Kyogo is first choice striker this season.

Your predicted XI in full is: Hart, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, Turnbull, O’Riley; Yang, Palma, Furuhashi.
