Footage of the first training session under new Celtic interim boss John Kennedy has emerged this morning, and fans are already noticing differences.

Kennedy was yesterday confirmed as the club’s new manager until the end of the season. With Neil Lennon gone, his former assistant will now take charge of the final eight games of the campaign.

The new era began yesterday morning with the players checking into Lennoxtown to take their first session under the new boss. And it was clear the atmosphere around the place was upbeat.

The video clip showed plenty of Celts in good spirits. The likes of David Turnbull and Odsonne Edouard clearly enjoying the session.

However, there was also plenty of ball work shown in the clip too. This was one notable difference from previous training videos. In recent weeks, Celtic have generally only posted a couple of minutes or so of the players jogging around and doing stretches at Lennoxtown.

But you can only go by what Celtic post. And it’s clear there was some positivity in training and plenty of ball work ahead of Aberdeen on Saturday – Kennedy’s first test.

There’s going to be plenty for Celtic fans to take from the game regardless of the performance or scoreline. It will be especially intriguing to see what Kennedy’s style of play, as well as his team selection, includes.

For now, however, supporters appeared generally optimistic after seeing the training clip:

In other news, we look at three Celtic careers that could be revitalised after Neil Lennon’s departure.
