‘Our poor handling’ – Green Brigade issue Celtic fan apology over ‘regrettable’ incidents

The Green Brigade have issued an apology to Celtic supporters after “regrettably impacting” their matchday experience.

The Celtic ultras have taken centre stage in recent times in a positive light with incredible Champions League tifos before crunch nights in the competition at Parkhead.

But there have also been moments of negativity surrounding the group.

We told you how the Green Brigade aimed a swipe at Celtic fans for being “lazy and complacent” with “spoiled attitudes” towards their club’s victories on the pitch, as well as their trophy cabinet.

Now, however, the group have apologised for behaviour and incidents they claim have also not been handled well by their own standards as they admitted to conducting themselves poorly.

Green Brigade apologised to Celtic fans after ‘incidents’

The Green Brigade’s short statement was published on their social media channels and read: “Apology to Supporters…

“In recent weeks, we have created incidents at matches that have regrettably impacted the experience of other supporters. These incidents have then been made worse by our poor handling of the situations.

“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all fans impacted by our conduct.

“We acknowledge that our support style isn’t to everyone’s preference.

“Going forward, we will be more mindful of this and be more respectful to other supporters.”

Other incidents involving Celtic’s Green Brigade ultras group

The exact incidents in question is not yet known and have not been specifically noted.

In recent seasons their behaviour has also come under the microscope whereby the club itself has been forced to take action.

The Green Brigade has always been vocal on their desire to establish The Celtic End and they issued another statement in March of last year when Celtic refused permission for a Celtic Women’s game. 

At times their behaviour has landed them in hot water and the Green Brigade were hit with a ban by the Hoops for ‘unacceptable behaviours’ which led to safety concerns.
