The football shutdown which is currently taking place must be a real inconvenience for the players of every club in Britain.

Of course, it makes sense not to play football at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t be a source of irritation to the players that there will be no football.

It must be particularly annoying for players who are currently in an excellent run of form, which brings us to Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths.

Player is in an incredible run of form

Griffiths is currently in an incredible run of form, having scored eight goals since the winter break. Most recently he scored a hat-trick in Celtic’s 5-0 win over St Mirren.

However, that excellent run of form will now have to come to an end as football goes into lockdown. That will be annoying for Griffiths, as after a poor first-half of the season, he has recaptured some of the best form of his career.

His partnership with Odsonne Edouard has been key to Celtic’s recent run of good form, and it is disappointing that the duo will not be able to continue that partnership for a while to come.

Hopefully can maintain form when football returns

Hopefully, whenever football returns to British shores, Griffiths will be able to maintain the great form he was in before the shutdown.

You could tell that he had worked very hard during the January break to get back to his best, and the proof was being shown on the pitch.

Sadly, all that has come to a halt for the moment. Still, that could provide motivation for the player when the Hoops do eventually return to action.

He will want to show that he is still in good form when Celtic do once again play football, and you imagine that he will be looking to maintain his fitness levels during the break, so that he is raring to go once football returns.

Hopefully, in one way or another, it will still be a season to remember for Leigh Griffiths at Celtic.
