Celtic youngster Owen Moffat got the opportunity to train with the first-team today after his Wednesday night stunner for Celtic B.
Moffat has two goals in two matches for the young Hoops in the Scottish Lowland Football League.
His first, against East Kilbride, was a well-worked team effort resulting in a classy finish.
His second was just a moment of sheer genius. If you missed it, you can find it on the official Celtic B Twitter account.
The youngster took in a long ball forward beautifully before sinking a 30-yard chip over the unfortunate Stirling goalkeeper.
His good form could now land him a spot in the match squad for tomorrow’s trip to Tynecastle.
Moffat was featured in the first-team training gallery on the official website this evening, indicating he’s in the mix for selection.
Celtic B don’t have a match this weekend and don’t play until Wednesday night, so there’s nothing really stopping the 19-year-old from staking a claim to feature on the left flank.
With Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele both out injured for the foreseeable, Moffat has a real chance to make moves under Postecoglou and push himself up the pecking order.
Although he has, of course, featured in friendly action with the senior side, Moffat has yet to make his competitive debut for the Bhoys.
That now feels right around the corner even if it doesn’t come at Tynecastle. If he continues scoring and creating highlight moments with the B team, opportunities should come his way quickly.
