French football legend Patrice Evra has named Celtic Park the place to go to experience an unforgettable atmosphere.

Evra has played in stadiums all over the world. He’s won countless trophies including an English Premier League title, Seria A and, of course, the Champions League.

When asked where to go for the best football atmosphere by YouTuber Thogden, Evra ranked Celtic Park very highly. The former defender was brought on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw between Celtic and United in 2009, the night Scott McDonald got himself on the scoresheet before Ryan Giggs equalised.

The former Manchester United defender said [Thogden YouTube]: “I think in Turkey, Galatasaray and Besiktas, was amazing. But you know what the atmosphere also I enjoyed was Celtic. It was just amazing.

“We played Celtic at Manchester United in the Champions League. The atmosphere was electric. This is where you get the real ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, the real one.”

He was then asked to name whether Celtic or Rangers was his favourite club, but he declined to answer because his former boss Alex Ferguson is a Rangers man and he didn’t want to get into trouble. Fair enough!

Champions League nights coming back to Celtic Park

More special European nights are on the horizon at Celtic Park thanks to the work of Ange Postecoglou.

Winning the league last season earned automatic entry into next term’s group stages and there’s no doubt the Celtic Park crowd will look to create a massive atmosphere once again.

Hopefully, it’s of the sort that’s intimidating to the opposition and inspiring for the home side.

Hopefully, it’s the kind of night that opposition players are speaking about publicly more than a decade later, just like Evra!

In other news, Celtic captain Callum McGregor used as example in concerning FIFPRO study.
