New striker Patryk Klimala started and scored for Celtic’s second-string in today’s SPFL Reserve Cup semi-final against Hibernian.

Also in action was new signing Ismaila Soro, with the January duo getting a chance to impress Celtic coaches and build their fitness ahead of first-team tests to come.

The Polish 21-year-old hasn’t had much of a chance in Neil Lennon’s side since arriving last month but this effort will do his chances of more minutes no harm at all.

The manager was in attendance to watch the match (Daily Record).

The official Celtic Academy Twitter described his finish as ‘stylish’, apparently chipping the opposition ‘keeper to score the side’s third of the day in a 4-1 rout.

Clearly, there is now anticipation that the club gets the highlights uploaded to YouTube as quickly as possible so everyone can see the goal for themselves.

However, it was youngster Karamoko Dembele that left fans talking most, with his superb double really putting Hibs to the sword.

His first goal is said to have been a rocket that went in off the underside of the bar, with his second effort coming after beating a number of opponents.

The teenager seems to be edging closer and closer towards more regular appearances for Lennon’s first-team, although with competition like James Forrest and Mohamed Elyounoussi ahead of him, the battle to start is fierce.

Luca Connell was also on the scoresheet in the win, feeding off of Daniel Arzani’s assist.

These fans were excited to hear about Dembele’s Monday efforts, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
