Celtic are currently locked in a battle to try and win a domestic double in Brendan Rodgers’ first campaign back at the club.
Since returning to Glasgow, Rodgers has endured mixed fortunes; however, there is hope that he can end the season on a high note by claiming both Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup trophies.
No matter what happens, fans will have an additional opportunity to attend Parkhead once all is said and done following recent developments.
Yesterday, official club channels announced that a host of Hoops legends will return to Paradise to face Borussia Dortmund in a charity match organised by the Celtic FC Foundation.
Paul Lambert will manage Celtic, supported by Tom Boyd as his assistant. Scott Brown is set to don the captain’s armband once more, which is bound to create excitement among the Parkhead faithful [Celtic FC].
Funds raised from the match will be split among various causes to help feed individuals affected by the ongoing cost-of-living crisis by delivering food provision in several locations across the UK and Ireland. A donation will also be deposited to Dundee Cancer Centre at Ninewells Hospital.
Paul Lambert opens up on return to manage Celtic Legends
Former Scotland international Lambert holds a deep connection with Celtic and Borussia Dortmund, becoming an iconic player in his time with both clubs.
The 54-year-old has opened up on the charity match, describing the opportunity to feature in the Parkhead dugout as ‘an absolute honour’ after being in charge for the last Legends fixture against Liverpool in March 2023.

Lambert told the official Celtic website: “It’s an absolute honour to be taking the reins again, for the Foundation’s latest charity match.
“It is a particularly special occasion for me given my connection to both clubs and I’m sure it’ll make for a fantastic match here at Celtic Park, all for a wonderful cause.’
“I know this Dortmund Legends squad very well, and they have some fantastic former players, but we’re pulling together a strong Celtic squad with a number of players who I am sure the fans will be delighted to see back in the Hoops.”
In what is set to be an action-packed day at Paradise, more announcements will be made in due course as Celtic provide confirmation on who may be involved.
