Paul Tisdale has been the man in Celtic headlines this week after reports emerged that he is to be appointed to a senior operations role at the club.
The Athletic and The Scottish Daily Mail both reported that information on Wednesday night, although it was not clarified what his exact job title would be.
Celtic will turn to the former Exeter City boss to lead change behind the scenes in the football department after Brendan Rodgers aired frustrations during the summer transfer window.
It has already been established that Tisdale will initially review recruitment procedures, the club’s use of data and coaching development.

It has now subsequently emerged that he will be a direct replacement for former Celtic Head of Recruitment Mark Lawwell, clarifying Tisdale’s exact role at the club.
Journalist Stephen McGowan reported that information for The Daily Mail on Thursday, stating that he is poised to take up the title eight months after Lawwell departed the club with first-team scout Joe Dudgeon.
That’s a prominent and important position. It appears Tisdale will be formalised as a new key figure within the club, supporting the manager and potentially even liaising directly with the Celtic board.
This is beyond any consultancy or self-employed relationship that Tisdale may have had with the club during the summer. He is already known to have attended matches and conducted work for Celtic.
Back in August, The Daily Record reported he was working on transfer targets for Celtic directly alongside Rodgers and senior scout Jay Lefevre.
Celtic deliver on needed recruitment changes
Rodgers called for Celtic to take action on a review and improvement of recruitment processes a couple of months ago, and thankfully, they’ve taken that seriously.
Tisdale has clearly made an impression on those he’s worked with at the club already, and Rodgers has likely had a hand in his imminent appointment.
The manager needs a figure he can trust and work well within such a key role. Everyone at Celtic needs to be on the same page and unified when it comes to an overall transfer strategy.
Hopefully, this is a new beginning for those efforts as the club plan their work for the January window and beyond.
