The Sunday Glasgow Derby is one that, for the Celtic fans at least, will be talked about for all the wrong reasons.
From the VAR penalty award to the bottle-throwing incident, the Celtic fans will feel that the controversy created takes away the shine from Brendan Rodgers‘ team’s display.
For the first 45 minutes, Celtic were superb. They limited Rangers to almost no shots on target whilst they pressed and harried their way into a two-goal lead.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, had it not been for the penalty, Celtic would most likely have gone on and won the game as Rangers looked all out of ideas.
However, as it stood, a 3-3 draw played out after Rabbi Matondo cancelled out Adam Idah‘s 86th-minute strike which meant the spoils were shared.
It also meant Celtic remained at the top of the Scottish Premiership which means that if Rodgers wins his last six games, he will have successfully retained the title.
This is why Peter Grant was left confused with Philippe Clement at full-time.
Peter Grant amazed at Philippe Clement’s behaviour
The former Celtic hero was casting his eye over the result and the performance of both teams and admits that he couldn’t believe that the Ibrox manager, his players and the fans were celebrating dropping more points at home.
Grant said [The Sun], “But I must admit, I was stunned seeing Philippe Clement and his players celebrate like they had won the league.
“However, I’ve got no doubts deep down it was more relief for them than anything else.
“Clement’s a wily old fox — I get why he was trying to put such a big spin on the draw.
“A Celtic win would have been a massive blow for Rangers. I think what this game did was underline again that anything can happen in derbies.”
Clement had to win this game to put a marker down to prove that he and his team were genuine contenders for the title.

But the reality is that when it mattered, Rangers once again failed to beat Celtic in a must-win game.
Even without Callum McGregor, Rangers couldn’t muster enough about them to beat us. And it was the same in the first Ibrox Glasgow Derby when Rodgers was without Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate.
At our weakest, Rangers failed. When the Parkhead derby comes around Celtic will be at full strength and it would be hard to bet against us getting the win that could swing the title towards Paradise.
