The fallout of Celtic’s draw with Rangers continues this week as Peter Grant now weighs into the debate of the result.

Later tonight Peter Grant will give an alternative opinion on what he thought of John Beaton’s decision to listen to VAR and award Rangers a penalty.

But for now, Grant shares the reason why he’s not overly concerned about the Ibrox club coming to Celtic Park in what is certain to be a potential title decider when the post-split fixtures are announced.

Peter Grant ‘more concerned’ about St Mirren

Whilst Grant knows more than most just how important getting a Glasgow Derby result against Rangers is to Celtic but, like the rest of us, the former Celtic hero knows that the next game is the most important one.

That’s why Grant can only focus on the visit of the Paisley side this Saturday and why Celtic must remain focused despite getting a very good Ibros result.

Grant said [The Go Radio Football Show], “I’m not concerned about the Rangers game in a couple of weeks. I’m more concerned about the St Mirren game.

“It’s massive this week because that’s the way it is now between nw and the end of the season. It’s whoever blinks first in that respect.

“I said it at the start of the season and said it midseason, they look after themself because remember, I lost one game and still lost the league.

“So the draws that Celtic have had at home could still come back to haunt them. So nobody knows if this is a good point for Celtic or two points dropped.

“That will only be told when it comes to the end of the season and how you’ve got on in the league championship.”

And, of course, Grant is correct. There is literally no point in taking a point at Ibrox and then losing all three or dropping two against St Mirren.

Celtic have dropped far too many daft points at home and away which have allowed their Glasgow rivals a way back into this title race.

Nothing less than three points will do on Saturday and then, and only then, will we worry about the upcoming derby at Celtic Park next month.
