Former Celtic player and assistant manager Peter Grant says he recommended Tom Rogic to Fulham back in 2016.
Grant, who’s currently in charge of SPFL side Alloa Athletic, alerted then Fulham boss Felix Magath to Rogic at a time when the Aussie’s future at Celtic was in doubt.
The playmaker had leapt onto the scene in the final year of Ronny Deila’s time at the club but he faced an uncertain future under new Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers.

And Grant rated him so highly that he let the London club know all about him.
“He’s a big game player,” the midfielder told the Scottish Sun.
“To be perfectly honest, when his contract was running down at Celtic I recommended that Fulham should have signed him, that’s how highly I regarded him.
“He has that quality to play, he’s technically very good and has an unbelievable eye for a goal.

“Probably the only thing you would say about Thomas is his injury problems. After talking to everybody at Fulham, they didn’t really know much about him.”
We can be glad that Grant plan for Rogic didn’t work out
Celtic fans will certainly be glad that Fulham didn’t pursue a move for Rogic. The Aussie may be struggling a little at present but you really can’t doubt his contribution to our history making period over the past few years.
For a start, we wouldn’t have got that iconic Hampden goal against Aberdeen had he been moved on in 2016.
Time will tell whether Rogic gets his big move down south. At 27 he should still be in the peak of his powers. Yet you kind of get the feeling that he may have missed the boat with a move to England.

Had Rogic moved a couple of years ago, he would likely have netted the club a large transfer fee. Now he would be unlikely to go for the same amount of money, having moved behind both Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham in the pecking order.
Rogic is clearly still an immense talent. But the days of him being touted for moves down south may have dried up.
