A hearing is set this week that could result in an eyebrow-raising suspension.
Yes, Scott Brown will take to Hampden to defend his case for his actions against Rangers. Just what it was he did wrong, nobody seems to actually know. The case is against his actions that were apparently against the “interests of Association Football”.
Don’t be surprised if they find a way to suspend Brown. Both Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent have had to sit out suspensions for their actions during the match. As a way to even things up, it’s hardly inconceivable that the SFA punish Broony.
But what the hearing in three days’ time could do is give Olivier Ntcham a chance at redemption.

The Frenchman came in for some criticism after a shocking display against Hibs. It backed up his similarly poor performance against St Mirren a couple of weeks ago. Since his awful display in the 1-0 loss to Rangers last December, Ntcham just hasn’t been the same.
You can’t really question his commitment to the club. Despite transfer stories in the summer, the Frenchman penned a new long-term deal back in November. But since then, he just hasn’t been performing to any great extent.
His display at Hibs could easily have been enough not to have gotten another big chance this season. With Brown, Callum McGregor, and Tom Rogic all influential in the centre of the pitch, Ntcham’s form doesn’t merit a starting spot.
Ntcham the only option?
But just who else could Lennon turn to if Brown is suspended for the visit of Kilmarnock? Ntcham would be the natural replacement, and you’ve got to imagine he would be desperate to make amends for his recent showings.
The big open space of Parkhead should also suit Ntcham’s incredible passing range. He’s a man that likes to dictate and spread the ball through his own technique. But he’s also a player lacking real confidence, and in desperate need of a pick-me-up.

Should the SFA suspend Brown for any length, they could also be handing Ntcham a huge lifeline for the visit of Kilmarnock.
It’s difficult to see who the alternatives would be if not Ntcham. And of course, the SFA would have to find something to ban Brown for.
Ideally, the Celtic captain won’t receive any sort of suspension. But if he does, it could give Ntcham another big chance to get his head in the game.
