Emilio Izaguirre could have inadvertently shed light on who Celtic’s next manager will be.

The Hoops left-back revealed, as reported by the Daily Record, that interim boss Neil Lennon has offered the player a new one-year contract.

The player is reticent to sign the deal as he wants to move to America. However, the real story is that Neil Lennon seems to be involved in who will be at Celtic next season.

That could well indicate that Neil Lennon will be in charge at Celtic Park next season.

There has been no confirmation as yet as to the identity of Celtic’s next manager. Neil Lennon is in charge until the end of the season.

However, the fact that he is actively involved in the future of players at the club could well be a sign that he is going to be the new boss.

Why would he be involved in this situation otherwise?

It makes sense for the Hoops board not to make any announcement on Lennon whilst the season is still ongoing. They won’t want any distractions whilst the Hoops are challenging for the treble.

However, it does look likely that the next permanent manager at Celtic Park could be the man who is currently in charge.

We will find out sooner rather than later. All signs seem to be pointing to Lennon though.
