Predicted Celtic XI vs Rangers: Three big changes from Hampden win
Neil Lennon’s Celtic will aim to round off a superb 2019 in the best way possible tomorrow by beating Rangers.
Victory over our rivals would extend our lead at the top of the Premiership to eight points going into the winter break. And, given that we’ve only dropped five points all season, many would struggle to see the Ibrox side clawing back the deficit.
We’re backing the Bhoys for a third successive win against Steven Gerrard’s side. And here are the players we think will do the job.
No changes from Boxing Day
The majority of those inside Celtic Park will be hoping that Fraser Forster can put in a similar display to the one at Hampden earlier this month. The big Englishman was imperious that day as he denied the Gers attack, most notably Alfredo Morelos, on a number of occasions.
Jeremie Frimpong should start his fifth successive match at right-back while Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer will play in the centre. Boli Bolingoli missed the aforementioned Hampden meeting but should be thrust back into the derby spotlight at left-back.
Scott Brown and Callum McGregor are both guaranteed to anchor the Hoops midfield barring any late injuries but the real interesting selection could come ahead of them.
Many want to see Mikey Johnston given the nod on the left-wing but we reckon he’ll start on the bench. We think Lennon will go with Ryan Christie on the right, Olivier Ntcham in the middle and James Forrest on the left. All behind Odsonne Edouard.
