Radio host Ewan Cameron sets up for another embarassment with fresh Celtic claim

Radio host Ewan Cameron has never been one for pro-Celtic opinions, and he let his mask slip once again on Radio Clyde last night.

The host was taking the reigns of the popular Clyde 1 Superscoreboard show last night. It was the first time he has ever hosted it, and he certainly looked to wind people up with his opinions.

Cameron, if you remember, was the pundit who claimed last year that Celtic’s dominance was over. He said the club wouldn’t win another treble, and posted the claims on Twitter.

And last night, he seemed out to get Celtic fans once again on Clyde 1. Speaking on Superscoreboard (Monday 3rd June, 3:00), this is what Cameron had to say.

“Celtic won’t win a treble again, that’s it – it’s gone. The treble treble is done, that’s it, no more, it ain’t gonna happen.

“They might win a cup but they won’t win the league. I think Rangers will stop them winning nine in-a-row. I’m making that bold predicting here on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.

“Celtic will not win the league under Neil Lennon. And I’ll tell you another thing, he might not last till Christmas.”

And this is based on what exactly?

You know, if Cameron wanted to come across as a neutral simply giving a bold prediction here, he could’ve left it at Rangers winning the league. But to suggest Lennon won’t reach Christmas is incredibly disrespectful to the Northern Irishman.

It may have escaped Cameron’s notice, but he’s talking about the eight-in-a-row champions. He’s talking about a manager who has won three Premiership titles in the past and had back-to-back Champions League campaigns. To suggest he won’t last until Christmas isn’t based on anything factual at all.

It’s perhaps the case that Cameron is still hurting from the Scottish Cup final. After all, his beloved Hearts failed to avoid him from getting another prediction wrong last year.

What really frustrates Celtic fans with this radio presenter is his attitude towards the club. He wasn’t keen on praising Celtic for winning the treble treble. Instead, he was simply looking to move on and claim the club won’t do it again. It’s almost as if winning it isn’t an achievement that deserves credit.

No doubt when we win nine-in-a-row, Cameron will come out and claim the 10 will be stopped. That seems to be his new M.O.
