As soon as Celtic clinch the league title, there is a good chance that interim manager Neil Lennon will give some players a rest.

After a hard season, the players could do with a week off to recharge the batteries. This is a policy that Lennon used before in his first spell as Hoops boss, so it won’t be a shock to see it repeated.

One player who could benefit from this is Anthony Ralston.

He is fully fit after a long injury lay-off. He deserves the chance to show Neil Lennon his capabilities as a player.

If Ralston does well, it could have a knock-on effect into next season. At the moment, he is the only right-back who is certain to be at the club next season.

Jeremy Toljan looks likely to go back to Borussia Dortmund. Both Cristian Gamboa and Mikael Lustig are out of contract.

Therefore, it makes sense to get Ralston involved in the team as soon as possible, if the league is won against Hibernian on Sunday, Ralston should start the following game against Kilmarnock.

If the right-back impresses Neil Lennon, there is a real possibility he could be a starter for the Hoops at the beginning of next season.

It is up to Ralston to take this chance which could make or break his Celtic career.
