It looks as though Celtic’s dominance really has taken its toll on some rival supporters judging by their reaction to Clare Whyte’s resignation today.
The Hoops are on course to secure their 12th (yes, 12th) consecutive trophy next month. If Celtic beat Hearts at Hampden in last season’s delayed Scottish Cup final, it would mean Neil Lennon’s men will have won everything on offer in Scotland for four years.
Therefore, as you would imagine, that’s led to plenty of conspiracy theories. Not only do Celtic call the shots on the pitch, they also seemingly control everything off of it too. Peter Lawwell makes all the decisions in Scottish football don’t you know.
In all seriousness, it makes people feel better when they believe things like this. Believing that Lawwell and Celtic bully and control the Scottish game behind the scenes provides them with comfort. It gives them this false but comforting belief that our dominance is actually unjust.
Just look at all of the nonsense over the summer when the league had to be called. Mind all of the garbage over the summer when they were all fuming because we had rightfully been awarded the league? The conspiracy theories started there and they haven’t stopped since.
Well, that level of bitterness was on show as Whyte resigned from her role as the SFA Compliance Officer. Whyte will step down from her role in the New Year after two years in the gig to ensure a smooth transition for her successor (Clyde 1).

And it appears that the news has brought out all of the conspiracy theorists once again, as questions over her successor remain up in the air.
Who will be next to take the call? Well, if you ask our rival supporters, it’s all down to the sneaky Peter “Liewell”. Here’s a look at some of the pretty incredible reaction from our rivals who seemingly just can’t take Celtic’s domestic dominance anymore:
