The new season is nowhere near upon Celtic and Rangers and yet, Kris Boyd sounds worried already.

The 49ers takeover of Rangers has provided a new dynamic, prompting Celtic to keep a watchful eye on what the Ibrox club do this summer in the transfer market.
Should Celtic be worried? Absolutely not. The Parkhead club are a well-oiled machine and it’s up to Rangers to think of a plan to catch Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys.
And that is what is worrying Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd.
Kris Boyd warns Rangers boss Russell Martin about challenging Celtic
Boyd has been quite vocal about the appointment of Russell Martin but even before pre-season preparations have started, the Sky Sports pundit already sounds worried.
Boyd told Go Ballistic [28m 37s], “The be all and end all is win games of football and that’s what Rangers need to remember.
“Getting to the last stage of Europe, fantastic, but Rangers need to start winning games of football on a consistent basis domestically and start winning trophies again because it’s been far, far too long and Rangers will be hoping that Russell Martin’s the manager to deliver that.
“It’s not going to be easy. Celtic in terms of the structure they’ve got, the manager they’ve got is at a top level and for Russell Martin coming he’ll be hoping to change a few things, get a few players in and see where that takes them.
“But as I said there’s a style of play and a game plan and everything we speak about I think when you when you’re at a club like Rangers, you need to win.
“And that will be the main aim for for Russell Martin this season especially.”
Kris Boyd’s laughable Celtic-Rangers flip-flop
Boyd is famous for his flip-flopping when it comes to Celtic and Rangers, which was apparent when Martin was announced as the new Rangers boss.
Boyd tried to warn Celtic their dominance could end next season with a laughable ‘wipe the floor’ example of the time Rangers won the league with, wait for it, Dick Advocaat.
Boyd said, “We have seen it before. You go back to Dick Advocaat’s team. Totally wiped the floor with Celtic, then Martin O’Neill arrived, and they wiped the floor with that Rangers team, which was a good Rangers team.
“You look at Rangers’ problems. It didn’t come against Celtic. It was against everyone else. If Rangers can eradicate the results against everybody else, and start to build momentum early, and start winning the games against the rest, then the Glasgow derby will take care of itself.”
Since Advocaat’s last league title win with Rangers in 2000, Celtic have swept up 19 title wins in the last 25 years. There’s only one team who has been wiping the floor with anyone in Scotland this century.
