We may have lost to Rangers at Celtic Park on Saturday, but the season still has a long way to go.
Given that we’ve won the last 11 domestic trophies while the Ibrox side have won a bit fat none, you’d be forgiven for thinking we still had the bragging rights in Glasgow.
The Gers clearly think they are the team to beat though, after a strange tweet was posted on Friday.

Rangers seemed to take credit for Scotland’s rise up the coefficient table – by comparing where the country found itself in 2018 in comparison to now.
The rise has been meteoric – from 26th to 12th – but it’s been a team effort from all of Scotland’s European sides.
Not that Rangers are likely to show much humility at present – as Celtic fans were keen to point out the facts.

What do the numbers say?
Despite the gloating from Ibrox about a heroic win over European giants Standard Liege – the facts are that it is Celtic who have contributed the most to the co-efficient over the past five years.
Last year was the first in almost a decade that Rangers got more points than us.
And, even then, they only got 11 compared to our 10 – after going a whole round further in the Europa League.
The previous year we bagged more, as was the case in the three years prior to that too.

In the last five years, Rangers have contributed 16.25 points. Celtic have more than double that with 34.
But don’t let the facts get in the way of a few hundred retweets, lads.
