Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric has posted a class image on Instagram of him celebrating with Celtic man Josip Juranovic on Croatia duty.
The pair managed to qualify for the World Cup this week thanks to a massive 1-0 win against Russia. The result ensures the Croats won’t be involved in the playoffs and instead have a direct ticket for Qatar in 2022.
And as Juranovic took to Instagram to post an image of himself with Modric, the Madrid icon reposted the image on his own Insta story:
Croatia managed to finish their World Cup qualifying group with 23 points out of 30. They finished just the 1 point ahead of Russia, with their final result in Split proving to be the decisive one.
Juranovic has spoken about the influence Modric has on the Croatia squad in the past [Glasgow Times]. You can tell there is a deep admiration there for the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.
And as he prepares to get set for the World Cup next year, their bond with each other will no doubt deepen as Zlatko Dalic’s side keep Croatia in a good place with their highly-exciting squad.

Josip Juranovic returning to Celtic Park bursting of confidence
This is brilliant to see. Ever since Croatia qualified earlier this week, Juranovic has been constant in his celebrations. You can see just how buzzing he is, and that’s the kind of attitude we want coming back to Celtic Park.
As well as Josip, the Celtic Scotland trio will also return in a euphoric manner after booking a home playoff tie in March. The same goes for Kyogo Furuhashi after 2 big wins with Japan.
Even Liel Abada and Nir Bitton can come back feeling a bit better about themselves after Israel overcame the Faroe Islands. There should be a lot of happiness to go around this weekend.
Of course, the main thing is that they come back fit and healthy. That’s another boost Celtic look as though they’re going to receive. Only Stephen Welsh looks like coming back as a concern after limping off for Scotland U21s last night.
But other than that, there doesn’t appear to be any major issues within the squad. That’s absolutely huge ahead of a hectic winter period in which the confidence will need to keep flowing.
For the likes of Juranovic, however, the last fortnight couldn’t have gone any better.
