Red Star Belgrade legend Ratomir Dujkovic has said that there is one advantage that the Serbian club have over Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers’ side travel to Belgrade for their first game of the Europa League campaign.

In a bid to get fans through the door, Red Star are offering free tickets to fans who have donated blood as a geture of thanks.

While Red Star are fearful of Celtic, Dujkovic thinks that they can shock the Hoops and leave the Bhoys returning to Glasgow empty-handed.

Red Star Belgrade fans can help them beat Celtic

Dujkovic played in the last meeting between the two sides, where Celtic ran out as 5-1 winners at Parkhead.

On that occasion, the goalkeeper admitted that Jock Stein’s men were a class above but he is far more confident about Red Star’s chances this time.

Speaking to Serbian outlet Sportissmo, he said: “Objectively speaking, we could not match Celtic in that period.

“Now the situation is quite different. I don’t fully know the true condition and strength of the Scottish team, but I know the strength of Red Star.

“The fans are very important and I hope that they will be present in large numbers, as well as that they will support the team as before. They always gave wings to our team.

“I would use the opportunity to invite all the fans, to come in as many as possible and to give real support.”

How many Celtic fans will be at Red Star Belgrade?

Europa League rules suggest that clubs have to give a minimum of five per cent of the stadium’s allocation.

The Rajko Mitic Stadium, also known as the Marakana, is the biggest away end by that ruling, with 2,600 tickets available.

It is a big help to have that many Celtic fans travelling to Belgrade to get behind the team, and hopefully keep the home supporters as quiet as possible.
