Aberdeen have given St Mirren permission to speak to former Celtic captain Scott Brown about their managerial vacancy, The Daily Record reports.
Aberdeen announced former Buddies boss Jim Goodwin as their manager this morning, who takes charge of the Dons against Motherwell this afternoon.
However, he may not have Brown to call upon as a coach or a player after St Mirren made an approach for him yesterday.

The Daily Record says Brown could be offered his first management role in football, despite having over a year of his player/coach contract left at Pittodrie.
There are other names in frame at Paisley, including former manager Jack Ross, who developed a great rapport with the St Mirren fans during his time there.
Given Brown’s legendary status at Celtic, we’ll obviously want to keep an eye on how he does as a manager. It could have future ramifications for us.
If Brown turns out to be a talented boss in the dugout then naturally he will be tipped for a role at Celtic in the long term.
At the very least it’s a very intriguing Scottish football story that has the potential to shake up the Premiership.
Brown is entirely missing from Aberdeen’s match squad against Motherwell today, but he is carrying a hamstring injury that forced him off mid-week.
