A car crash involving Celtic star Anthony Ralston has seen him walk away from the incident in good health, according to the Daily Record.

The right-back suffered a collision near Lennoxtown, where Celtic’s official training centre is located. Images have surfaced on social media showing the extent to which damage was done to the vehicles involved in the collision.

It’s not yet clear who else was involved in the crash or how they came away from it. But, according to the Record, a club source confirmed that Ralston is fine after the incident.

The right-back is already sidelined through injury. The immediate concern after hearing Ralston is safe would be whether the crash has aggravated any knock he was carrying. That’s another aspect that remains unclear.

Ralston is becoming an increasingly important member of the Celtic squad. After breaking through at the start of last season and playing against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, he’s went from strength to strength.

A loan spell at Dundee United has been followed by four appearances over the course of late December and January. His injury, however, has stalled his progress for now.

A worrying sight

The crash continues to look worrying even if Ralston did walk away no worse than before. Both cars look heavily damaged, and nobody has confirmed which of the cars belonged to Ralston.

A return date for Ralston to first-team action hasn’t yet been set. The arrival of Jeremy Toljan has made life more difficult for the youngster with regards to breaking into the first-team and getting another run of games.

But his immediate focus should and will be on the crash itself. Here’s hoping everyone has managed to walk away from this nasty looking collision without any further injury.

Apparently, Ralston already has. Here’s hoping the same can be said for any others involved.
