There is an interesting development in the future of Celtic star Odsonne Edouard, the Daily Mail reports. The report claims that Everton are interested in signing the player, and recently had him watched twice, against Kilmarnock and Copenhagen.
However, perhaps most importantly for the Hoops support, the report goes on to claim that any team that wants to sign the Frenchman will have to meet Celtic’s asking price of ‘more than £30 million’ for the player.
Hopefully Edouard will not be leaving Celtic in the summer. There has to be a chance that the player will be keen to lead the Hoops to the promised land of 10 in a row.
Hoops have reportedly began talks over new deal
Indeed, the Daily Record recently reported that the Hoops had begun talks with Edouard about a new deal.
However, the Hoops might well receive an offer they can’t refuse in the summer. There are bound to be parties interested in signing Edouard.

That is why it can only be considered a positive that the Hoops are reportedly holding out for a Scottish record fee for the player.
The days of Celtic not getting big money for their best players are long gone – that was shown when the Hoops received £25 million for Kieran Tierney.
Could earn Hoops largest fee in club history
You have to imagine that Edouard could earn the Hoops an even bigger fee, so well he has performed in his time at the club.
Hopefully Edouard spends at least one more season with Celtic.

However, should he and the club decide to part ways this summer, the Hoops will reportedly make a lot of money on his transfer.
As long as that cash is invested in the team, then the blow of losing Edouard won’t be as severe.
