Report: Boli Bolingoli not fit enough to return for Celtic ahead of Bristol City friendly
Boli Bolingoli still isn’t fit enough to return to action for Celtic ahead of their game against Bristol City tonight, the Daily Record reports.
The newspaper claims that Tom Rogic could return for tonight’s game in Bristol. However, returning left-back Bolingoli still isn’t fit enough to play.
It, therefore, looks unlikely that we’ll see the Belgian in action tonight. Boli originally made the 67HailHail predicted XI for the match. However, it looks as though Greg Taylor could get the nod instead.
If he does miss out, it will undoubtedly be a frustrating one for Bolingoli. After only just returning from a loan spell with Istanbul Basaksehir, he still hasn’t had the chance to play a single minute of pre-season action.
Celtic have so far played out two pre-season games against Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic respectively. Boli hasn’t been involved in either despite making the trip to Wales for our training camp.
Boli Bolingoli to miss out for Celtic tonight; Greg Taylor to get another opportunity?
If Boli still isn’t fit enough to feature, then it looks as though Taylor would be the automatic choice. Especially with Midtjylland so close in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers next week.

For Boli, he still has some time after this one to get himself up to speed. He was likely never going to start against the Danes regardless.
Celtic still have two friendly matches after this one to crank up their intensity levels. The Hoops face Preston North End on Saturday and then take on David Moyes’ West Ham United a week later.
Both of those matches give the Neil Lennon signing an opportunity to get some minutes into his legs. Something he needs considering he’s only played six matches since November due to injury.
However, it’s interesting to note that the Record reports he isn’t FIT enough to return. Isn’t the idea of pre-season to build up players’ fitness levels? It seems counter-productive if we can’t find a way to give the player some minutes.
Postecoglou did confirm on Saturday that he had an injury that would keep him out for a couple of days [Daily Record]. It looks as though Boli is still struggling with if this report is anything to go by.
