Callum McGregor? Kieran Tierney? Nope, instead, Brendan Rodgers apparently wants Alfredo Morelos of Rangers.
That’s according to TEAMtalk. The source believes that Colombian Morelos is, in fact, the only player Rodgers wants from up north. That’s despite the fact Celtic have a plethora of players better than him.

According to TEAMtalk, Rodgers has told the Foxes to keep track of the Rangers striker.
This is tough to believe. After all, Morelos missed a considerable number of sitters against Celtic during Rodgers’ time at Parkhead. He’s yet to prove he can score against a big team outside of the Premiership. His performance against Rodgers during his time in Scotland certainly weren’t impressive.
Would be happy for Rodgers to never contact Celtic again
There are many stars that Celtic have well under contract that Rodgers may wish to look at. But the truth is, the new Leicester City manager shouldn’t even be welcomed into any negotiations. Regardless of the fee offered, Peter Lawwell should turn Leicester away out of principle.
Of course, this report from TEAMtalk conflict’s the Scottish Sun’s from earlier regarding Dedryck Boyata. That report stated that Rodgers was looking to take the out-of-contract Belgian down south in the summer.

Celtic, of course, are already going to have to do some surgery on their defence regardless. Boyata, Filip Benkovic, Emilio Izaguirre, Mikael Lustig, Jeremy Toljan, and Cristian Gamboa all look like leaving the club at the end of the season. Rodgers, therefore, taking the Belgian would hardly be anything Celtic aren’t preparing for.
Nobody truly knows what Rodgers’ plans are this summer. He’ll still surely be looking to find out more about his Leicester squad before he targets any summer signings.
As for Morelos, you have to say that would be a shock. If Rodgers is looking for a striker to help shoot Leicester into Europe next season, Morelos surely can’t be it.
Rodgers should at least show Celtic some respect and leave their players this summer too. After his betrayal of supporters last week, that’s the least he can do for the club.
