Celtic have opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur about the permanent signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers, The Daily Record has reported.
The paper believes that negotiations have begun on the purchase option included in the USA international’s season-long loan move, which was put together in a rush at the end of August.
That fee is said to currently stand at £6m with significant add-ons, however, it is also reported that there is room for movement on the initial amount due, the period it would be paid over and any add-ons.

Ange Postecoglou has already confirmed the club will look to sign Carter-Vickers up in the long-term, although the player obviously has a say in that too.
It’s now up to CEO Michael Nicholson to try and negotiate a deal that is suitable for all parties.
Postecoglou has recently gone on the record to share that Nicholson is now the driving force behind transfers being concluded at Celtic, with the manager busy taking care of first-team management.
Carter-Vickers has become an important part of the Celtic starting eleven. Postecoglou starts him whenever he is available. He’s made 23 appearances in total since the end of August.
He has become the dominant centre-back in the Hoops defensive line, often looking more solid and assured than his peers.
The 24-year-old is not the finished article by any means, but it would make perfect sense for him to make the permanent switch to Glasgow and develop his skills further under Postecoglou.
