Celtic are closely monitoring Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, according to a report.
Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph has shared an update on the club’s transfer intentions, with the goalkeeping position seemingly high on the agenda.
Joseph tweeted on Friday evening, saying: “Celtic are in the market for a goalkeeper this summer.
“It’s understood one target being monitored closely is Croatia & Dinamo Zagreb number one Dominik Livakovic, who has a year left on his contract.
“Fiorentina’s interest has cooled recently. Villarreal & Fenerbahce are also keen.”
Livakovic is 28-years-old and has 45 caps for his country. He earned real praise during Croatia’s run to the FIFA World Cup semi-final in Qatar.

This BBC article from the time described him as an “unlikely hero” after his heroics in penalty shoot-out wins over Japan and Brazil.
With one year left on his deal, it would be hoped that we could get him for a cut-price, although we’ll need to wait and see what Celtic‘s full intentions are.
At present, we have Joe Hart, Ben Siegrist and Scott Bain as our first-team goalkeepers. Hart also has one year left on his contract, and will be 37 this time next year.

The Englishman has been an important player over the past two seasons but there is a general feeling that this summer may be the time to act and bring in another keeper capable of challenging for the number one jersey.
That seems to be the club’s plan, with a recent Football Scotland report saying we wanted a keeper.
Livakovic is likely to be a name that would excite fans. Whether it comes to anything or not, we’ll have to bide our time.
