Celtic are considering making a move for Leeds United left-back Barry Douglas, according to Sky Sports News’ Anthony Joseph.
The broadcaster’s news editor took to social media on Thursday night to disclosed that Celtic are on the hunt for a new left-back, and that Douglas is ‘high up’ on the shortlist to replace Boli Bolingoli.
Sky Sports reported on Thursday night that Amiens have made a bid to sign Bolingoli on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent.
Hoops do need to sign left-back
The Hoops do need to sign a left-back to replace Bolingoli. His time at the club unsurprisingly looks to be coming to an end.

It seems that Douglas could fit the bill. The player has experienced for playing for big clubs, which is a bonus. He was part of the Wolves side which won the Championship in 2017-18.
He then moved on to Leeds, and was part of the side who won the Championship last season. Interestingly, he wasn’t a regular for the Elland Road side last season.
Not a first-team regular last season
The player made only 15 appearances for Leeds last season. However, that should not stop Celtic from making a move for the player if the Hoops feel that he can add to the squad. It could also mean that the player is eager for more first-team football.
Celtic were probably going to buy a left-back at some stage this season, to challenge Greg Taylor. However, recent events involving Boli Bolingoli have speeded up that process.

It will be interesting to see if the Hoops make a move for the player over the next few days. The Bolingoli incident hasn’t stopped the club from signing players, Albian Ajeti completed his move to Celtic on Thursday.
It would be a positive sign that the club are putting the Bolingoli situation behind if more transfers were completed in the next few days. Only time will tell if Douglas is a player who arrives at Celtic Park.
