A report claims that Celtic are interested in taking a right-back on loan. The Sun have revealed that the Hoops are interested in Arsenal youth player Jordi-Osei Tutu.

However, the report goes on to say that other clubs are interested in the player. Hamburg have bid for Tutu and Brentford are also credited with an interest.

It is no surprise that the Hoops seem to be on the lookout for a right-back. Jeremy Toljan didn’t impress in his short stint at the club, and there is doubt over Mikael Lustig’s future.

As for Tutu, he has not been able to make the breakthrough into the Arsenal first-team. However, the fact that The Sun’s report claims that Arsenal want to offer the player a new contract is intriguing.

Loan deal could make sense

If he agrees to a sign a new deal with Arsenal, a loan move to Celtic makes sense. It would give the player a chance for regular football.

It is hard to know what the Hoops support will make of a potential loan signing. The side didn’t have the best of luck with loanees last season, with the notable exception of Filip Benkovic.

Still, if Neil Lennon thinks the player can do a job for Celtic, the fans will get behind the player should he join the Hoops.
