Celtic could reportedly face action from the SPFL for apparent sectarian singing towards Derek McInnes.
According to MailSport, the match delegate heard the away support’s chants referring to McInnes as a “sad orange b******”. It’s the same chant that McInnes complained about after the Scottish Cup semi-final last month.
The fact the Hoops fans were chanting it again will apparently be in the match delegate’s report. That could mean the club has to respond to the chanting.

Interestingly, according to MailSport, it may not matter, however. There are apparently few options open to the SPFL with regards to how they could punish Celtic.
There was no punishment after the Scottish Cup semi-final. But that could be as it may not have been in the delegate’s report post-match.
McInnes sat in the stand during yesterday’s 3-0 win over the Dons at Pittodrie. It was a sensational day as Celtic were crowned eight-in-a-row champions. Yet again, they bullied Aberdeen around the pitch, and continued our fine form in the Granite City.

The Aberdeen manager was in the stands, however, for reacting to the same chant in the Scottish Cup semi-final. A one-match touchline suspension was handed to him, with assistant Tony Docherty taking control of first-team affairs from the dugout.
Celtic have already just been punished by the SFA for the rammy against Rangers. £7,500 was stripped from the Parkhead coffers for reasons unknown. So it would be unfortunate if the club had to face another fine so soon, regardless of how minimal.
Football won the day
Outside of that, however, it was a sensational performance from Celtic at Pittodrie. It provided Neil Lennon with some vindication of his work since arriving at Parkhead just over two months ago.
Lennon’s side hasn’t produced swashbuckling performances on a weekly basis. But yesterday’s 3-0 mauling of the Dons was perhaps his greatest showing yet.

All directions point to next week’s trip to Ibrox, however, to face Rangers. It’s going to be an extremely tough contest considering the form Steven Gerrard’s side are in. But Celtic bossed them for large spells at Parkhead two months ago, and will surely fancy doing so again this time around.
A second win over Rangers for Lennon would be, quite simply, monumental. It would set him up beautifully for the double-header against Hearts, with all eyes then being on the Scottish Cup final on May 25th.
Yesterday saw confidence return to the club once again. And what great timing for it to do so.
