Celtic are set to bid for Motherwell’s highly-rated midfielder David Turnbull, according to a report. The Daily Mail have revealed that the Hoops are set to bid £1.2 million for the player.
However, the report goes on to claim that Premier League side Brighton are also interested in the player.
Scored double figures

Turnbull just completed a superb season for the Steelmen. He scored 16 goals from the middle of the park. His performances were rewarded when he was named as Scottish football writers’ player of the year.
There is no doubt that Turnbull would certainly be an exciting signing for the Hoops. He would add a goal threat from the middle of the park that is lacking in most of the Hoops’ central midfielders.

It would also be intriguing to see how the player fares under the leadership of captain Scott Brown. However, the Hoops may need to up their bid if they want to land the player.
May need to up bid

Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows recently claimed that it would take a club record fee to prise Turnbull away from Fir Park.
Indeed, he has reiterated his club’s position on the matter on social media.
Also, when it comes down to finances, Brighton could probably offer more money and possibly more wages than Celtic can.
However, should the Hoops land Turnbull he would be a more than decent addition to the squad. He could be a key part of the Celtic midfield for years to come.
