Club America manager Miguel Herrera has told Bolavip he believes Celtic target Edson Alvarez’s future is away from Mexico.
The defender has many European suitors vying for his signature.
The Mexican international was subject to a failed bid by The Bhoys in January. However, Mexican press are still linking the Hoops as one of several teams still interested.
Celtic reportedly interested in Edson Alvarez
Alvarez is currently playing in Mexico with top team Club America.

His performances are going global as a whole host of teams are watching him. Mexican outlet Bolavip are linking Celtic as well as Ajax, PSV and Wolves as being interested in him.
They have also reported his manager Herrera’s comments to journalists on his future.
He said: “I see him far from staying, he is a player who is attracting the attention of many people in Europe, but as long as he does not leave.
“I still consider him inside the club, I reiterate, he is an attractive player because of his age and his moment.”
Herrera’s comments are standard for a manager in similar positions.

The veteran gaffer will know that his star will look to go elsewhere and Europe being that avenue.
However, if Celtic are successful, they must do a lot better than they did in January.
Celtic must bump up price for Edson Alvarez
The Bhoys’ interest in Alvarez is concrete as they had a £5 million bid rejected in the winter window.
It was naive of Brendan Rodgers and co to think such a low figure would get a 21-year-old Mexican international.

The board mustn’t low ball this time round as the centre-half position becomes critical. Numbers are on the low at the moment and fans are looking for quality additions.
Herrera is right in that his age and promising qualities will invite clubs towards him.
Celtic must knock everyone out the park by putting in an amicable bid to Club America’s valuation.
