Celtic have started to make significant moves to sign the first player of the 2024 January transfer window.
Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn seems to be the guy who could be donning Celtic colours pretty soon after a bid was tabled for the player, according to a report.
Football Scotland reports that Celtic have tabled their first bid for the 24-year-old star, but the offer is just short of what the Austrian club is looking for and they will be going in again.
The line to suggest that Celtic and Brendan Rodgers might get their man is that Rapid Vienna have already begun hunting for replacements.
Back in the summer, the Bhoys lost such an influential and key figure of the team when Jota departed for Saudi Arabia, with Luis Palma being his replacement.
The Honduras star has faired pretty well during his first five or six months at the club, including shouts that he is signing of the season.
But this push for Nicolas Kuhn seems to be going at a decent rate, with Football Scotland providing quotes from Markus Katzer, sporting director at SK Rapid.

He stated: “In principle, I don’t want to comment on any rumours. But I can confirm that we actually have concrete offers on the table for Nicolas Kühn, but I don’t want to name the interested clubs.”
Brendan Rodgers boosting Celtic’s attack
The interesting thing about Kuhn is that he mainly operates on the right wing, but he does have versatility and can play as a forward too.
From his 22 games in all competitions this season, he has ten goal involvements, including five assists in Austria’s top tier.
Ahead of the title run-in, it’s good to see that the forward areas are getting bulked up because now Rodgers will have options to choose from.
How fans react to a signing like Kuhn, given that he isn’t proven on a bigger stage, is another thing altogether, but at least, there is now some movement when it comes to incomings.
