Read MoreReport: How Jota actually feels about permanent Celtic move
A report from the Scotsman has disclosed how Jota actually feels about the prospect of moving to Celtic on a permanent basis from next summer.
The Portuguese has been consistently asked about his long-term future ever since he signed on loan from Benfica in the summer. Celtic have an option-to-buy in his contract, which hasn’t helped the speculation [Sky Sports].
The player was again asked about the situation today as he celebrated winning the Player of the Month award for October. No surprise to see him once again blank it by refusing to give anything away [Daily Record].
However, the Scotsman reports that Jota is indeed open to the prospect of moving to Celtic on a permanent basis. This comes with his game-time limited with Benfica.
Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida reported on Twitter over the weekend that Celtic will definitely look to move for Jota.
And with the Scotsman claiming that it’s something that the player would be interested in, that would certainly solve one of the key issues Celtic fans will be concerned about.

Jota not being given room to enjoy his time at Celtic
It can’t be long before Celtic simply take Jota off media duties. It’s getting to the stage where the player is being absolutely hounded about his long-term future.
Regardless of whether he’s a man-of-the-match, player of the month, or coming off after celebrating a brace or hat-trick – there’s always a question on whether he wants to stay. His decision is hardly going to change on a day-to-day basis.
Jota has made his public stance on this clear. He simply isn’t interested in going down that road with the media. He’s quite right too. There’s no point in him talking about wanting to stay at Celtic only for it to fall through and be made to look foolish in the end.
Alternatively, he could also simply be wanting to see what else may be on the table in the summer. We’re talking about a highly-talented young Portuguese talent with aspirations of playing at the top level. Why wouldn’t he be open to other offers just as he’s said to be open about staying at Celtic?
But constant media hassle over what’s next for his long-term future is bound to frustrate him. In fact, it’s the kind of thing that could easily put a player off staying for the long-term.
We’ll just need to wait and see what happens here. It’s getting absolutely tiresome.
