The 22-year-old is number one target for a couple of clubs in this window. Arsenal’s two bids have been rejected and fellow Italians Napoli are also admirers.

The Tierney transfer saga is going to be a long drawn out process if it isn’t already.

Arsenal are front runners in the game but Napoli are holding their breath. However, Inter are turning out to be the outsiders who may win the race.

Yesterday’s English Sun (Jul 23 page 54) report that Conte is a fan of the Scotland international. The new manager is looking to rebuild his dwindling Inter side.

The black and blues haven’t been champions for years and aren’t living up to their historic name.

Tierney would help rebuild a shaky defence as well as add on a potential big money player in future.

It’s going to take a lot of money to pry him from Celtic as Arsenal’s £25 million with add ons didn’t tempt the Hoops.

Nevertheless, could the historic Inter be enough to sway Tierney into wanting the deal over the line?

Celtic aren’t issuing hands off pledge on Tierney

The club could be looking to cash in on their prized asset.

There has been no hands off statement issued by the club in Tierney’s direction. Neil Lennon obviously wants to keep his star left-back but it may be out his hands.

Potential failure for Champions League qualifying will force the hand of Celtic to cover costs.

Also, if a massive bid comes in, the club can’t turn down a huge fee that will help the team.
