Read MoreReport: Josip Juranovic facing weeks out of Celtic action after Hampden injury
Celtic full-back Josip Juranovic will be out of action for weeks after picking up an injury at Hampden on Sunday, according to Football Scotland.
The outlet reports that Juranovic is not only out of the weekend’s match against Ross County but is also a major doubt to make the upcoming derby against Rangers at Celtic Park.
In fact, it’s said he will struggle for fitness until mid-May with Celtic’s last match of the season coming at home to Motherwell on May 14th.
It looks like he won’t be making a meaningful contribution in the title run-in, with the Bhoys having five games to win ten more points in the Scottish Premiership.
Juranovic has undoubtedly been a massive part of the season so far and his absence will be felt.
We’ll hear from manager Ange Postecoglou tomorrow about other options available at right-back, including Anthony Ralston who also appeared to have a potential issue on Sunday.
The new Champions League format & what it will mean for Celtic
Celtic have had injury problems throughout the season with key players dropping at critical times. Kyogo Furuhashi and David Turnbull spring to mind in that regard.
Time and again the squad have responded with big results regardless so while this injury will cause anxiety, it’s important to remember Celtic have persevered previously.
All the best to Josip and his recovery!
