Celtic are to reportedly expect a Napoli bid for star-man Kieran Tierney within the next 48 hours.
According to the Scottish Sun, the bid will far exceed Arsenal’s opening offer of £15m. The Gunners have been the club mainly linked with the Scottish international over the summer, but still haven’t reached an agreement with Celtic.
Tierney is back in Scotland and has yet to play a single minute of pre-season action. He’s continuing to recover ahead of the coming season, but question marks still remain about whether he’ll actually be in green-and-white.

Napoli had been linked by the Scottish Sun for Tierney just days ago too. It was thought at that point that they were ready to outbid Arsenal. Now, however, we’ve to apparently expect a big bid in the coming days. Speaking in the Sun, Neil Lennon had this to say on Tierney.
“We have a price for our player.
“He’s on a long-term contract and we won’t sell him for anything less than we feel is the right price. In terms of where he is mentally, it’s got to be unsettling for him, it’s only natural.
“As for Bolingoli-Mbombo, we are not too far away and he will be another good addition to the squad.”
Napoli bid will be believed when we see it
It feels like every day there is another update on this story. If it’s not Napoli ready to outbid Arsenal. it’s Arsenal apparently pondering a fresh package or something similar.
But, at the end of the day, Celtic fans will believe the bid when they see it from the Italians. Talk of bids happening within a certain time period is always doubtful. That’s not to say Napoli aren’t interested, but they’ve yet to submit an offer for our man as it stands.

Tierney managed 40 games for Celtic last season, and remains Celtic’s number one left-back. Should he depart, it’s no surprise that the club are lining up a replacement in Bolingoli-Mbombo of Rapid Vienna.
It feels like the kind of signing that’s being brought in as a direct replacement. After all, Celtic have Andrew Gutman available as cover for Tierney if necessary. Is there any need to bring the Vienna man in if Celtic weren’t prepping to lose Tierney?

Whether that’s to Napoli or Arsenal remains to be seen. But, as it stands, Celtic still haven’t had a bid they deem acceptable for their star-man.
Should we expect one in 48 hours? It’s the kind of thing you would take with a pinch of salt.
