Report: Neil Lennon given fresh job assurances from Celtic board

Manager Neil Lennon will stay on in the dugout at Celtic after receiving fresh assurances from the club board, The Scottish Sun has reported this afternoon.

The Bhoys dropped more points in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday after a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone at Celtic Park.

The result, as well as the lacklustre performance, led to renewed calls from Celtic fans to finally end Lennon’s second spell as manager.

The Scottish Sun report Neil Lennon was told that he is safe, for now, last night.

The news will likely not go down well with Celtic fans.

Our run of form speaks for itself. Two wins in twelve is not good enough for many big clubs in the modern era, nevermind Celtic, whose resources tower above most of our opponents.

It’s form that would surely lead to a sacking for any other Celtic manager in the last 20 or 30 years?

It seems though that Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond are determined to go against fan opinion and see out this project, even at the expense of any success whatsoever this season.

Of course, they’ll see it as doing the best thing for Celtic Football Club, but that is increasingly looking like an illogical opinion.

Strap in for another week of drama at the Bhoys.
